I reported as the lead computer operator I provided Tier 1 and 2 support for regional Composite Health Care System - CHCS, Composite Health Care System II (now AHLTA), and Tricare Online. I was responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues for a mixed MVS, Windows NT/2000 and mainframe environment I was tasked to support help desk personnel in verifying and restoring Windows NT and Outlook usernames and passwords and utilized active directory. I maintained communication with customers and technical staff and assist users with policies and procedures for setting up passwords and new accounts. I responded to calls for training new personnel and customers in computer operation and applications procedures.

I performed as a subcontractor under Skill Storm for a privately owned Picture Archiving and Communication Systems company. My duties and responsibilities included building relationships with off-site software development teams, designing and testing upgrades to an existing Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and maximizing my healthcare practice management, workflow, and healthcare application experience to assist in the design of a new EHR for the organization. I effectively educated and guided client's core team, end-users, and new internal employees on software configuration and front end functionality to ensure proper utilization of the proprietary software and ancillary applications. Delegated to me was the responsibilities included assisting and/or training physician group practices on the RIS/EHR software and ancillary applications and working closely with the client and project manager to ensure implementation is moving in accordance with contract deliverable and project timeline. I served as the subject matter expert on the proprietary software and provided recommendations/suggestions for product enhancements based on expertise utilizing software and real-world experience working with the proprietary product base.

Serving as the supervisor to contract personnel in the installation, I was charged with leading the staff in turn-up of hardware, fiber optic cable, Sonnet transmission equipment and Optical Carriers products. I installed and trained staff on Nortel Passport 7480, 15000K, XYLAN 2032, UE9000, Access Node Express, DSX Panel, TELECT, Digitest DMU, DS1, DS3, VM Ethernet, OPC Ethernet, and TAP cabling. Other duties include moves adds and changes on any commercial distribution frame as well as read engineering specs, prints and drawings. I assigned responsibilities and resources to contractors assigned to site in accordance with the site requirements. Cable installation in overhead racks to associated equipment bay locations was delegated to me along with butt, strip, sew, form, and terminate cable at equipment and distribution frames. Other tasked included tracing and verifying copper cable pairs for continuity and polarity. Supervision of staff included training for contract employees and new hires on policies and regulations. I verified working hours for contractors and approved time sheets.

Serving as a Corpsman in the US Navy was very rewarding. As a Hospital Corpsman I trained and treated personnel in various healthcare and medical procedures in classroom, clinical and field environments and certifying personnel in CPR. I was assigned to enroll and schedule patient appointments for laboratory procedures and testing. I was charged to sign and verify orders for healthcare providers, create lab request order sets, and draft morbidity reports. I developed various adhoc reports to extract data for statistical analysis. I supervised the work of less skilled technicians, trained and supervised personnel in immunohistochemistry and special staining techniques and I also served as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and supervised the EMT crew while on duty.
