Pelech - Social Worker - Palos Heights, IL, USA

Mark Pelech

Palos Heights, IL, USA

I create animal assisted interventions (AAI) to be used by human service professionals in their practice by providing a certified therapy dog and acting as the handler during clinical interventions. My company, K9 Therapeutic Healing, also provides education on AAI as well as research into the effectiveness of client specific interventions.I am a licensed social worker (LSW) and certified alcohol and drug counselor (CADC) with a background in animal behavior and training.

My company is K9 Therapeutic Healing LLC located in Palos Heights, IL. I have an interest in using AAI for the following types of clients: abused women and children, substance abusers (all ages), PTSD including military personnel, depression, oncology patients, palliative care and hospice patients. I am also looking into providing therapy dogs to libraries and schools specifically in a program designed to increase student reading skills.

I would like to do research in affiliation with another human service professional that is using my services on the effectiveness of the AAI treatments.

I do education on AAI to any group requesting a presentation; I can tailor my presentations to specific topics of interest for any group.
