The A&E department catered for patients within the area around Lewisham and South London seeing a wide range of patients from a rich and varied variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds suffering general illness, acute life threatening illness, mild to moderate trauma, stabbings, gunshot wounds etc. the department had facility's for three resus beds to be working with a separate section for paediatric emergencies.
