i am competent in all areas of groundwork, including kerbing and drainage
From December 2013
This was a short project, on Bredbury recycling plant. A small group of us were drafted in, to turn a piece of waste land, in to a site suitable for portacabin offices to be situated, and off course provide the services to the offices. We worked hard, pushed to a short schedule; we worked every day for 3 weeks.
First we had to clear the land of a lot of old scrap metal and shrubbery.
We used road formers to create two concrete strips for the cabins to sit on. We used terram, 6f2 and MOT to create a nice rolled finished carpark that sloped in to a land drain. We used the road formers again to create pathways in to the offices. We put in cable ducts for the electric supply, and installed the small waste water, and fouls drainage. Lastly we helped out with the general logistics, and assisted the fitters with moving in furniture ect.
September 2013 - December 2013
This was an extension to the existing 'Millstead' SEN School. We started by laying the 'piling mat' seperating the layers of 6f2 and MOT using terram. This also involved me reversing wagons on site and tipping stone where necessary, and reversing them off site safely.
Later once the piles were in place I assisted an excavator in digging the ground beams, working to drawings, and using a laser level and staff. I assisted the steel fixers also, in positioning the steel into the beam digs, and ultimately poured the beams alongside my colleagues. For a week I was banking a 21 ton excavator, during a large excavation, we were told there was risk of asbestos contamination in the land, I had to look out for asbestos and remove it from the excavation, and store in asbestos bags.
In the last few weeks of the job, alongside a colleague, I built a 100m dry stone wall, with a land drain.
June 2013 - July 2013
We were carrying out all aspects of ground works, in a large project to build the new Notre dame catholic high school in Everton Liverpool.
We carried out basic tasks of 'stoning up' areas prior to tarmac, and laying cable ducts, to more skilled tasks such as laying Aco drains, edgings, and bricking up manholes. We used a wide range of power tools electric and pneumatic including 110v drills, petrol floor saws, and pneumatic jackhammers

This was an extension to the Hugh Baird College in Bootle, Merseyside, where myself and my work partner carried out all aspects of groundwork including 'tanking' and applying bituthene, preparing the internal grounds, for visqueen and concrete pours, banksmen to various excavations, demolition of existing walls and masonry.
From September 2013
This was on a recycling plant in Widnes. I was laying pipes for small fouls and surface water drainage. I only stayed a week as more substantial work was offered to me.
August 2013 - September 2013
This was a brand new national storage warehouse for B&M bargains in Speke, Liverpool. I assisted a 360 excavator using a laser level and staff, to stone up and grade a large sloped area of land prior to concrete pour for the loading bays. I and my work partner laid edgings, and assisted laying kerbs.
From August 2013
I was here just for a week, nevertheless here are the tasks I undertook: Drilling and inserting re-bars, laying out steel cage, and finally a large concrete pour.
