• Responsible for running the club, hiring staff, ordering stock, weekly and monthly reports, cellar management, organising tournaments.
During my short time at Riley's, I managed to turn sales from -30%, my last week was +22%. I regularly scored highly in the company KPI incentive schemes, on several occasions producing the best figures in the estate of 100+ snooker clubs. Unfortunately, we were unable to agree on a forced relocation.

The Alien Bar

June 1999 - June 2009

Everything involved in running a bar.
I first acquired The Alien as a bar that had been closed for three years on a five year renewable lease for a nominal ingoing of £1000. The bar became a hotspot for 20-30 year olds and I was able to sell the lease on for £60,000 which may give an indication of the strength of the bar. My second bar Dempseys, due to the economic climate which is particularly bad in Spain, has shown a decline in profitability so I made the decision to return to England leaving my son to continue running the bar.

Miss Millies Fried Chicken

I took over the management of the store after being head-hunted by Finger Licking Chicken (Miss Millies), my previous employers from KFC, as the store was under-performing and needed strong management. My first year produced sales growth of 40% followed by company growth of well over average compared to other stores, moving the store from 7th to 2nd in turnover of the Miss Millies stores.
Strict cost controls of 10% staff cost and 39.5% food costs were always achieved on a yearly turnover approaching ½ million in 1997. I achieved many accolades for my stores consistency in achieving very high scores in the company mystery shopper and field service results, proving an exceptional standard of customer service and store cleanliness.

Kentucky Fried Chicken

Total store responsibility, hiring staff, ordering stock, producing weekly/monthly accounts.
The store worked to stringent cost controls which I managed to keep in line as well as producing a store turnover growth of a massive 140% in the first year. This was followed with a further 70% in the second year. At the time these were the best figures by any one KFC store in Europe. During this period I was rewarded by attending the European KFC conference in Monte Carlo and then the world KFC conference in Las Vegas. I was also the first person in the South West to win the Yearly Outstanding Achievement Award three times.
