MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS
Provide guidance and advice on Technical issues, Safety and Quality.
Manage the implementation of various programs-QS 9000, 20Keys, HR and Maintenance plan in the Hotmill on a daily basis.
Ensure that the Rollshop delivers a good quality, service, flow and a consistent availability of rolls to the Mills.
Co ordinate and ensure that Business drivers are obtained and met.
Ensure that the process is controlled effectively in order to meet operational targets.
Ensure that all resources are used effectively.
Ensure that adhering to all company policies and procedures relating to quality and safety standards controls the process.
Ensure that all investigations concerning delays longer than 60 minutes are done.
Ensure that work practices are constantly reviewed and optimised in order to comply with world class standards.
Co ordinate and control all safety and environmental issues on a shift basis.
Ensure that all incidents are reported and investigated on a 24-hour turn around time.
Ensure that schedule adherence is met daily.
Make cost effective decisions on a daily basis to ensure optimum plant and employee availability.
Train and develop team.
Ensure that Morale is high and motivate people constantly.
Ensure that the team is filled with competent and motivated employees that fulfil a whole job.
Ensure that expenses are controlled within budget parameters.
Develop clear goals and measurements for Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety and Morale.
Ensure that plant is maintained to ensure optimum machine availability.
Identify problems and seek root cause and rectify.
Empower the team and promote responsibility.
Lead by example and is respected by the team.
Ensure that the team is aligned to the Columbus and Business unit mission.
Review and update Quality and SWI on a regular basis.
Attend and hold meetings when required.
