Duties:
• To do medical referrals of the indigent children with special needs from the staff teams in addressing the present problems and evaluating further the appropriate intervention recommended by the doctors or specialist

• To take a lead role in coordinating with the Brgy. Council in addressing immediately the appropriate intervention of children with special needs in the community

• To review further the present programs given to the special children in the community by the local government and advocate for their participation in the rehabilitation process

• To take a lead-role in the training of the health workers in the early detection and identification of different disability

• To set up a community support plans with clear structure, goals and expected outcomes in the inclusion for people with disability in the society

• To develop and improve the existing community based opportunities for children and youngsters with special needs. This includes appropriate intervention programs, transition to independent living and employment projects

• Instruct through lectures, discussions, and demonstrations on identification of different disabilities and management of difficult behaviors of children with special needs to practicum students rendering volunteering work to the cbr organization.

• Meet with parents and guardians to provide guidance in using community resources, and to teach skills for dealing with students' impairments

• Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress, and to determine their priorities for their children and their resource needs.

• To build up link with local government units, private sectors, NGOs, support groups, in the costs of rehabilitation and intervention programs not afforded by the parents and organization

• Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students' needs and progress (i.e. occupational therapists, physical therapists, developmental/neuro-pediatrician and sped/regular...
