Safety as an integral part of all phases of planning and operation and as such, it is a responsibility and Team efforts of all Staff of Operation & Maintenance Management personnel at all levels who are directly responsible in providing services as well as advice to all operating management functions and all related activities involving safety. It is the principal function of a Safety Officer to act as the employer's principal assistant and consultant in the application of programs in order to remove prevalent hazards from the workplaces and to correct unsafe work practices of all line & staff personnel directly involve. Henceforth Safety Officer consist of both a line - staff with specialized personnel employed to advise and assist Top management in all matters concerning safety.Top Executives exercising a staff function will serve all departments in an advisory capacity and supervise as well the application of health, safety & environment in every workplaces.Furthermore, Safety Officer should coordinate with Customer Safety Personnel, through customer liaison representative to achieve better Customer Safety cooperation in the resolution of mutual Safety issues and further undertaking.. He must thoroughly review Operation & Maintenance concerning various Safety Reports, Performances & likewise to ensure that Special or General conditions covering Safety are suited to all covered employees and or contract workers. He must be also responsible in conducting initial Safety.
In addition every Employee has a responsibility to himself and the Company for his own safety.It's his duty to conform with safety rule and practices to make safety a part of his job.I believe that untoward accidents costs damages to life & property.
