Fulfill needs on International Plant Protection Convention(IPPC) requirements and bilateral information exchange
Provide inputs plant health inputs for bilateral and multilateral trade agreements and engagements
To ensure compliance with international plant health obligations and responsibilities, especially the provision of an official National Plant Health Contact Point regarding South Africa’s membership of the World Trade Organization Agreement on the Application of Sanitation and Phytosanitary Measures (WTO-SPS).
Drafting policy in support of plant health legislation, norms and standards, guidelines and standard operational procedures in order to prevent the spread of regulated pests and to eradicate and control such pests


Project 1. Micro-scale heterogeneity of spiders (Arachnida:Araneae) in the Soutpansberg,South Africa

Initiated a quantitative small scale survey which therefore contributed to SANSA's database by inventorying spiders and measuring species richness, abundance and endemicity in major vegetation types of the Soutpansberg
