Margaret Murphy began her career at SESAME STREET producing many original film segments for the show and went on to co-create the pilot for ABC's Emmy and Peabody Award winning children's series ANIMALS, ANIMALS, ANIMALS. She produced the first children's sports special for Nickelodeon, "Circles and Spins" based on a figure skating competition and received a VIDEO OF THE YEAR" GRAMMY AWARD NOMINATION for "Fun and Games", an interactive DVD for children she produced, directed, wrote and edited for Universal/Scholastic.
She was an editor for CBS News' "60 MINUTES" for several seasons and won a NATIONAL EMMY AWARD as an Olympic Unit editor for ABC Sports. Ms. Murphy also won a NATIONAL EMMY AWARD for her profile of Anne Morrow Lindbergh for the PBS series Smithsonian World an honor shared with noted historian David McCullough.
