Louw - Accountant - Centurion, South Africa

Mareliese Louw

Centurion, South Africa

After 6 years of studying and working in the IT Industry, I was part of the team who opened Gideon Joubert Louw Attorneys in Somerset West. My duties as Office Manager varied from handling all the IT, including the implementation of the Attorneys program, Lexpro, and personnel training on different software packages, to being responsible for Debtors, Credit Control and Debt Collecting. During this time period I rediscovered my interest in accountancy. It was wonderful to rekindle the passion I felt for the field in high school and studying Internal Auditing for one year at the University of Pretoria. With my passion for accountancy rekindled, I obtained a position at Ocean South Fresh (Pty) Ltd., which opened their doors in October 2008, as an Accounts Administrator. My responsibilities ranged from being responsible for the Suppliers to managing the Cashbook. I was promoted to Bookkeeper where my responsibilities varied from reviewing the Accounts Administrator’s work to monthly Reporting. From here, after calling the Cape home for 9 years, I relocated back to Pretoria during September 2013, when I was offered a Senior Accountant Position at a group of companies specializing in the medical industry. At the Medrock Group (Pty) Ltd. I’m responsible for the accounting of 2 of the companies in the group. I am interested in a new financial challenge where I can use my skills of problem resolution, diligence and accuracy with numbers to the benefit of my employer and my career.
