Lady P & Me

Hey hope this finds you well,

I believe my work history and existing public profile make me an ideal candidate for your client list. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and I would like to introduce myself.

My name is Marcus Hunter Neill alternatively known as Lady Portia Di’Monte. For the past ten years, I have actively worked in Ireland’s gay community and for the most recent three years I have branched out to work in Ireland’s mainstream community with success.

Additionally over the summer this year, I was invited to perform in venues throughout Toronto.

My background includes a Higher National Diploma in Performing Arts from the Belfast Institute of Further and Higher Education and since then, I have participated in productions of stage and theatre across the UK.

I was the creator, editor and host of the NVTV production of Lady P’s People which has aired for two seasons in Northern Ireland and is currently in negotiations for a third. In addition, for the past two years I have hosted a weekly musical theatre radio show on Belfast’s Feile FM which receives top ratings against competing morning radio programs.

This is part of the reason for me contacting you. I heard that you may be considering trying out some new people on the late slot! I’d be happy to work at 4 a.m. if that’s the only slot you had! Or holiday cover - I’m your man. I’m entertaining on air and have been asked to give workshops at Feile FM on how to have fun on air and make the listener feel I’m talking to them. I’ve already taken part in a show on Radio Ulster, with John Daly. I was also a roving reporter for John Daly and Steven Nolan. I was in the pilot team when John Daly put the pitch in for the afternoon weekday show. I 've also done slots on the Alan Simpson show.

I was in the Pilot show for Patrick Kielty so he could cover Alan Carr's radio show, and… he got the job! I’ve been in a few pilots for BBC TV as well and I’m frequently asked by Tyrone productions to be in their pilots as I’ve an engaging personality! I’ve also worked on some of Downtown's shows, I was their make-up expert on 1, giving a class over the air ways (which I’ve also done on Feile and UTV's late and live).

I recently took part in the Wendy Austin outside broadcast that was held at the City hospital’s Canner Centre. I would also cover drive time or breakfast show on Feile if the D.J's are on holiday.

I have lots of ideas that would make for a great show and I’m never stuck for anything to say as you can tell by this epic email! I just need the break to flourish at what I was born to do!!

For the past two years I have been invited to act as compère for a version of the X Factor called the T Factor for the charity Public Initiative for the Prevention of Suicide and Self-harm (PIPS). This event concluded with a Gala Ball in Belfast’s City Hall at which I was invited to preside as host. The event was attended by over 300 guests, with notable attendees including Belfast City’s Lord Mayor Pat Convery.

In addition, I have organised the annual Uber Chic Real Women’s Fashion Show for the past three years, an event for which all proceeds go to the charity supporting women diagnosed with cancer. As host and event organiser, I facilitate the event and venue whilst providing entertainment for the (on average) 700 audience attendees. The event has grown from strength to strength with each passing year and has been referred to as a “no ordinary catwalk presentation but one which is in complete harmony with the cause for which it is staged” by the Belfast Telegraph.

Generally I find the unique nature of my character and performing style generates an environment for entertainment that is infectious with fun and excitement. My portfolio involves acting as hostess, event compère, lounge DJ and drag performances as Lady Portia, the role for which I have achieved most notoriety within Ireland and the UK. I have attached some information and photos for your review.

I would thoroughly appreciate the opportunity to meet with you. Please feel free to contact me if you should require any further information and I certainly hope to hear from you in the near future.

Kind regards

Marcus Hunter-Neill (also my Facebook)
