As a case manager, I am able to multitask by meeting with clients, providing any needed resources, ensuring a positive approach in all encounters, and empowering the client to establish goals as well as achieving these goals.
Family Independent Case Manager/Medicaid Specialist
Georgia Department of Family and Children's Services
From December 2004
I interviewed clients for food stamps and medicaid benefits; collected and copied documents to prove eligibility and entered the data in a dedicated computer program based on the policies and procedures for the state of Georgia.
I teach a program entitled, Mission:Literacy to the children in TSA's homeless shelter. The children are seven to ten years of age and must need help with reading. The program is based on Bible stories and teaches the children reading skills. There are arts and crafts associated with each lesson to reinforce the different topics learned in each session. There is oral reading, find a word ,and phonics in each lesson. The classes are held on Saturday in order to accommodate the parents and children. It is a very satisfying project.
