Amara Quesada-Bondad is the Executive Director of Action for Health Initiatives, Inc. (ACHIEVE), an NGO that works on issues related to HIV, gender and sexuality, human rights, and health concerns of migrant workers, women, young people, and people living with HIV. Twelve years prior, she served ACHIEVE as its Program Specialist.
She has extensive experience in conducting action researches that tackle sexual and reproductive health issues of OFWs in destination countries, including HIV vulnerability and mandatory HIV testing among migrant workers, and has authored and co-authored a number of publications on these issues.
Ms. Quesada-Bondad has conducted numerous training-seminars and workshops on HIV, gender and sexuality, human rights, and migration issues for various groups, civil society organizations, government and academic institutions. Additionally, she has conducted skills building workshops on participatory action research, facilitation, and advocacy skills.
She currently sits on the Board of Advisers of Pinoy Plus Association, the organization of people living with HIV in the Philippines. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of CARAM Asia, a network of migration NGOs in Asia and the Pacific.
