Project Description:
This project is about developing the application enabling software that runs on AGERE Network Processor. One Such application is IP-ATM NodeB, IP-IP NodeB that is currently being developed. This software would include software for processing data plane, which runs on Agere Network processors and software for functional or application API to integrate with Control Plane, which runs on the host processors. Node B is a network element in the UMTS (3G) architecture. Node B connects with the user (UE) via the W-CDMA Uu radio interface and with the Radio Network Controller (RNC) via the Iub ATM based interface. The main task of Node B is the conversion of data to and from the Uu radio interface and forwarding the same to RNC.
Node B software which is being verified here is targeted at Network Interface Card or Channel Element/Base band card which is part of Node B and which uses APP350 network processor. Node B software is delivered in phases; the software under test is targeted at an NIC which has Ethernet as the Back plane (with Radio interface it will be Uu) and ATM as the Backhaul (Iub).

Project Description:
Allison Transmission Division (ATD), headquartered in Indianapolis, is the world leader in design, manufacture, and sales of automatic transmissions for trucks, busses, off-road, and military vehicles. Its parts distribution network consists of a main parts distribution center (PDC) located in Indianapolis, 29 distributors with 147 branch locations, and 1092 dealers in North America as of year 2000.
ATD's strategy planning team requires an integrated decision support tool for designing their Parts Distribution network. Currently decisions are taken primarily based on computation done by planner's individually using either Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access.
GM Manufacturing Systems Research Labs Researchers along with associates from Northwestern University and Michigan University have developed four decision support tools for optimally designing the parts distribution network for ATD. The new multi tier architecture would provide for RDBMS support, and visual display, graphical representation, and GIS representation of various outputs.
The Four tools that are part of the framework are:
1. AT SDC based Distribution Network Design (written in C)
2. Cost/Benefit & Information analysis of AT Distribution & Service System (Written in Delphi)
3. Reliable AT Distribution Network Design (Written in Delphi)
4. Inventory Sharing and Allocation (Written in Pascal)

Role:
As a team member involved in requirement Analysis.
