• Responsible for the full Inventory and Logistics function for all product lines of Baker Hughes, in Mossel Bay for the PetroSA projects.
• Receiving, Checking and shipping of spares to and from the suppliers.
• Shipping, checking, packaging and receiving of spares to and from the Rig.
• Cycle counting of the spares kept in stock for all Baker Hughes product lines in Mossel Bay.
• Logistics function for personnel to and from the rig - arrange transport for pick-up and drop-off of personnel at the Airport / Heliport, as well as making arrangements for accommodation when required.

Onshore Superintendent Materials Management

September 1999 - January 2002

In October 1999 I joined the Inventory Optimization Team at Mossgas (Pty) Ltd.
• We had been assigned to draw up sales lists, of all Surpluses, Redundant and Scrap materials at Mossgas, to distribute to prospective clients.
• Included in my responsibilities, was the management of the storage facility for all abovementioned materials, picking, packaging, arrangement of transportation (if required) loading and running the full Logistical function for the Inventory Optimization Program.
• We did the preservation of materials as we are in a very harsh environment, close to the ocean, and pick up rust easily.
• I was also involved in the annual Stock Take at Mossgas.
• I managed the Training Schedules for our department.
• We ran special projects, like re-drumming of Electrical Cables, Scrap Metals, and general work in the Storage Yard, where I had six people reporting to me, and had to adhere to Safe working conditions.
• I was also charged with the Procurement of shelving for the Optimization Program, in order to facilitate all Surplus, Scrap and Redundant materials.

November 1996 - January 1999

, R & B Falcon Drilling, Dynamic Positioning Drillship Peregrine 111 - Australia, Angola and Congo
• During November 1996, I joined the Dynamic Positioning Deepwater Drill ship, Peregrine 111, in Australia.
• Managing the complete storage facility onboard, I was required to fulfill the following requirements:
• 1. Reviewing of all Minimum/Maximum stock levels of materials required for the productive running of the Vessel. 2. Reviewing of all Orders being placed, to determine if we were within the laid down Budget. 3. Managing the full Logistical function for the Vessel, being arrangement for materials to arrive either by Helicopter or Supply Boat, and the dispatch thereof as well as completing relevant cargo / shipping manifests. Also monitoring all shipments to Onshore Base.
• We worked normal Offshore Routine, being 12-hour shifts, on a 28-day rotation.

• In 1990 I started my offshore career, when I joined Soekor/Mossgas, on the FA Production Platform, 85 kilometers South of Mossel Bay, South Africa.
• As this was the first Project of this nature in South African waters, we were tasked with the ordering, receiving, preservation, storage and issuing of all materials required for the Drilling and Production Phases.
• All the ordering and storage of materials required for the Productive running of this facility, was also part of my responsibilities.
• We also assisted as Emergency Response Members while onboard.
• Completing relevant cargo / shipping manifests for spares returned to Onshore Base.

• I started my career in Storekeeping and Warehousing, in the South African Air Force, as a Junior Storekeeper.
• During my time in the Air Force, I learnt all aspects of Storekeeping, Inventory Control, Warehousing and Materials Management, for various Storage facilities, being: Clothing, Furniture, Technical Publications, Weapons, Ammunition, Rations, Aircraft Spares, Chemicals, Photographic Equipment, Bedding, Camping Equipment and Stationary.
• By the time I left the Air Force, I was a qualified Senior Storekeeper, with the rank of Sergeant.
