Petroleum Engineer

Summary:

As a highly motivated and ambitious individual, I am seeking a challenging and professionally rewarding position with a quality and sustainably growing organization in the petroleum sector where I can further develop my knowledge and experience.

Senior Design Project – Reservoir Simulation: Successfully conducted a group project that involved building a geological model, populating the model with dynamic data, history matching the model and optimizing the field development by water flooding and number of infill production wells using real field data from Horn Mountain field (Gulf of Mexico).

Matlab, Visual Basics, Solid works, Multisim, Signal Express, Geographix and CMG reservoir simulator, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access)
 Avizo Standard and and Fire training course in Bordeaux, France (3D-imaging and geometry reconstruction workflow, 3D grid model generation, manipulating and measuring data, animation and time series, scripting, image processing module, visualization, image filtering and segmentations, image qualifications)

Work History

Research Assistant

Texas A&M University at Qatar, Doha

From June 2011

 Operating Micro-CT scanner to visualize 3D structures for multi-phase flow visualization
at the pore scale (including sample preparation, scanner setup and operation, image
reconstruction & analysis through a powerful visualization tool, Avizo)
o Scanning small samples at 1micron resolution using 20X objective
o Scanning large samples at around 15micron resolution using Macro70 objective
o Analyzing scans through Avizo by using different methods (Filtering images,
segmentation by selecting number of phases and areas being interested in,
volume & area calculations and determining total porosity and connected
porosity values)
 Measuring porosity and permeability of rock samples (Carbonate and Sandstone rocks)
 Experimental work on flow of Water-in-Oil Emulsions in horizontal pipes
 Experimental design and construction of the experimental setup for flow in pipes
 Experimental work on the impact of some acid additives on the wetting characteristics of
spent acid in carbonate rock matrix acidizing treatments using spontaneous imbibition
experiments
 Operating different setups/instruments: Goniometer (Measurements for Contact angle &
Interfacial tension), multiphase flow setup (In porous Media) including core holders,
Isco-pumps and piston accumulators
