Work History

Addiction Counsellor

Aiseiri Addiction Treatment Centre, Roxborough Road, Wexford Town, Co

I was responsible for counselling clients with various addictions i.e. alcohol, drugs, gambling and food. I facilitated group sessions with counsellors and clients. I carried out Power Point lectures to clients and families on various topics with regards to recovery to addiction. I would meet with clients on admission to the centre making sure they were welcomed under very difficult conditions. My work was very flexible and I had to change shifts each week doing some early mornings to late evenings, handing over to medical staffs that were coming on duty. I was responsible for filling in all documents with regards to a client's wellbeing and reports for the HSE and locum psychiatrists.

Farranferris College

Clinic Manager/Medical Secretary

Roselville Laser Clinic, Mr. A Benedict Smith, Bon Secours

While being employed as a medical secretary my duties included; answering calls, taking appointments and typing medical reports. As the practise grew I was promoted to management. I was responsible for hiring administration staff, organising hospital appointments for several practises such as Bon Secours Hospital Dublin, Blackrock Clinic Dublin, Harley Street London and Terenure Dublin. I trained new staff, managed accounts, liaised with Reps, ordered drugs and other supplies, completed health insurance forms, organised flights and diaries to various conferences and lectures. I also worked with ancillary staff employed in the practise. Most of my work remained at front of house, meeting and greeting patients and I always to take most of the telephone appointments to ensure every person felt they received the personal touch of the practise.
