Cleaning Supervisor

I received a very thorough training regarding security and data information as I was placed in two large schools to work. It was essential that I had an understanding of set procedures and policies and that I ensured that the team of 12 staff under me also held to these guidelines. My line manager said that I was particularly good at inducting new staff to the workplace and supporting them to achieve set targets. I led a team responsible for ensuring that the premises were spotless and ready for each new day, that all COSHH procedures were followed and waste disposed of correctly, and that all health and safety matters were reported efficiently. I ensured that stock was ordered and stored correctly and safely, and that the often expensive industrial equipment was cared for and regularly serviced. I prided myself on my time management skills and that of my colleagues. I also appreciated that a place must look welcoming as well as clean.

Housekeeping Supervisor


I was promoted to this post due to my excellent attitude to work and the results that I produced. It was essential that challenging targets were reached and that the structure I put into place in the hotel allowed this to happen. I worked very closely with my supervisor and the other staff working there to identify what the priorities were in the work place, the role of each of my team members and the action plan to put in place should an emergency arise such as an unexpected booking or an incident occurred, This way I ensured that every working day the Doubletree could present itself as the high class establishment that it was. I learnt a lot about how a room should be presented, where to look for the hidden corners that required additional a cleaning and how to ensure uniformity of standards across a team of varied workers. Motivating staff was essential. A positive work team produce better results, and colleagues often mentioned that I was practical, supportive and fair. I kept first class records of their achievements and progress.

Room Attendant
I began working in the Hilton as a trainee. I quickly progressed and became part of the supervision team respo0nsible for training new staff and demonstrating good practice. I worked within the rooms of current residents, ensuring that matters that needed immediate attention were covered, mini bars equipped and satisfactory. I especially enjoyed working in the public areas of the hotel and my line manager said that I had an excellent approach with the resident combining friendliness with professional respect. I always ensured that the work area was safe and fit for purpose.

I began my career here as a trainee. I learnt the ropes from a very experienced team. There was a great emphasis on flexibility in the workplace and I learnt to fit in well with others, put the needs of the clientele first and work challenging shifts positively. Clients often said that I could not do enough for them and I developed outstanding guest service skills. I was responsible for organising large scale events, dealing with any unexpected problems as they arose and keeping excellent communication in place with my line managers. I had to ensure every customer who came through the door was catered for and happy. I enjoyed doing this. I helped to produce a working, functional eating area attractively displayed, safe and very clean. Standards were very high and I enjoyed being part of such a sociable environment.
