This is a support unit for first-year students in the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences at the University of the Western Cape, which I started in August 2006 after I went on early retirement. It is ongoing and doing well!

We have also engaged in action research and have presented a number of times at national conferences during the past 6 years. A paper entitled 'Addressing the learning needs of atrisk students at a South African university' co-authored by Dr Venicia McGhie and myself has been accepted for publication in the South African Journal of Higher Education in 2014.
