JAMES AN COLLEGE
I relieved a teacher on maternity leave in Term 2 2013. The College prepares students for Select Entry Scholarship exams. I coached Grades 4-6 in Mathematics and Science and also in General Achievement tests that covered all Primary School subjects. Eg, English, Geography, History and Social Studies.

Gordon TAFE. Conservation and Land Management Department

I was employed as a sessional teacher training Horticultural Apprentices and teaching Core units on contract for Terms 3 & 4 2011 and Terms 2 & 3 2012. Highlights of my teacher/training position with the Gordon TAFE include, field trips for environmental management, working with TAFE teacher/trainer and laboratory staff colleagues, also a diverse student base from teenagers through to mid-life career changers and retirees. All with a broad range of abilities within the classroom setting and outdoors on field trips.

I tutor students in Maths, Science, VCE Biology and English ranging from Grade 6 to Yr 12 level. I also tutor privately in Geelong and surrounding suburbs, including Western Suburbs of Melbourne. I am also interested in tutoring /training in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne in 2014.

Geelong Baptist College In Terms 3 & 4 2011 I was employed 0.4 EFT to relieve a retiring teacher taking on a Year 7 and Year 10 Science class. Highlights included integrating laptops and PC's and Smartboards into my classroom delivery. Also assisting and umpiring in school sports programs, helping my Year 7 Science class with their end of unit English Presentations.

The Geelong College (2010). In Term 3 2010 I was employed as a Casual Relief Teacher at the Preparatory School. (Years 4-8). In Term 4 I was employed 0.5 EFT at the Senior School (Years 9 -12) to teach a Year 10 Maths class, Year 9 Maths Learning Support and Year 11 supervision and assistance with Year 11 Integration students.

Bellarine Landcare Group

My Landcare Officer (0.6 EFT ) duties included report writing and writing grant submissions and coordinating volunteers drawn from the local community, school groups and environmental volunteer groups. Other responsibilities included hosting training days and keeping accurate records of the Bellarine Landcare Group activities. Further responsibilities included field visits with landholders, providing technical advice on managing the natural environment, scheduling contractors for on-ground earthworks, liaison with government agencies regarding grants funding and mapping on ground works. I also completed volunteer training with the Department of Primary Industry. (D.P.I.)

My teaching responsibilities ranged from Maths Years 7 -10, Science Years 7 -10 and Information Technology 7- 10. Highlights of my teaching year at Geelong High School include resourcing and implementing Individual Learning Program vertical curriculum units across years 7 - 10 Maths and Science and successfully securing grant monies for setting up a "Froggery" for the Science Department. Highlights of my teaching at Western Heights College include mentor teaching in the Year 8 Program, development of integrated units, use of classroom laptops and smartboards and team teaching with Maths and Science colleagues. Also school camps, sports days, whole school celebration events.

I co-ordinated National Tree Day on 2 sites on the Bellarine Peninsula. Notably on the Rail Trail in 2010 whereby we achieved planting and guarding 5000+ indigenous plants during July using volunteers from local schools, Friends of Groups, Landcare members and Industry volunteers.

Cherry Lake, Altona (1992)

Whilst employed by Greening Australia Victoria, I managed a revegetation project focusing on restoring a degraded Saltmarsh involving Industry in sponsorship, Teacher training field days to involve Primary and Secondary school students in on ground field work. Also curriculum development to assist teachers to develop meaningful resources when studying their local environment. The site restoration was fully co-ordinated by myself under guidance from Greening Australia staff.
