My Maritime qualifications are to the level of a Master Unlimited (formerly known as a Master 1), Certificate of Competency and I have attained and sailed at all ranks on both Australian and overseas commercial vessels. I have also sailed in both “blue water” and “offshore” fleets.
In addition to my maritime career, I also work as a specialist marine environmental scientist concentrating on environmental impact issues relating to ports and shipping and ship operations. This involves a significant amount of writing and research augmented by my technical background of an equivalent 12 years full time in the Maritime Industry over the last 20 years since qualifying as a deck officer.
