"Luke was an integral part of the NZ U20 Team during Oceania Qualifiers and the U20 FIFA World Cup in Columbia. Luke played all the games at left back in a back 4. Luke is a left-footed, intelligent, good reader, passing fullback. Luke's strengths are his ability to read the pattern of the game and react accordingly, strong in the tackle, intelligent passer of the ball, willingness to compete physically, ability to get forward and cross, and adherence to the team's strategic approach to the game. Luke's performances were crucial to NZ gaining their best ever international results at this level. The best compliment I could give would be that at the end of our involvement in the World Cup Luke and the other players in the back four were playing and looking like true international defenders."

"Luke is a top quality individual who excels within a team environment and is prepared to put the team's goals and outcomes before his own. He fits well within the international environment and worked in with the team without any issues."
Chris Milicich New Zealand U20 manager
