Luis Li is an accomplished litigator and trial lawyer with more than 15 years of experience. He currently practices with the offices of Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, a Los Angeles law firm that represents a variety of clients nationwide. Luis Li's accomplishments include successful white collar criminal defense, such as federal criminal jury trial, internal corporate investigations, and state attorney general cases. Mr. Li is also involved in art, culture, and copyright law and has represented such clients as the Norton Simon Art Foundation and the author of the book “The Secret.”
Prior to his work with Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, Luis Li served for three years as the Chief of the Criminal Branch of the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office. He contributed to the city's highest conviction rate in more than a decade, supervising 270 prosecutors. Under his direction, the Criminal Branch measurably improved public safety in Los Angeles neighborhoods. Luis Li's previous experience as the Deputy Chief of the Major Crimes Section for the US Attorney's Office in Los Angeles contributed to his success with the investigation and prosecution of organized crime.
In addition to his professional work, Luis Li contributes to his community as a teacher and lecturer. He served as an Adjunct Professor at University of Southern California’s Gould School of Law and has lectured at the UCLA School of Law. Outside of his professional duties, he enjoys mountain climbing; he celebrates having reached the summit of Denali (Mount McKinley) in the summer of 1997.
