I'm a professional BCU Level 5 white water kayak coach. I've paddled all over the world and claimed several first descents. I've been a member of the GB Freestyle Team since 2001 and won the European Championships in 2006.

I am passionate about showing other people the wonders of white water and helping them to get more from their time on the water.

I am based in North Wales but travel across the UK and around World with my sport.

I have TV experience, including live programmes.

Patagonia Study Abroad is world leading program me for University aged students, allowing them to earn
University credits for classes such as Spanish and Videography while developing their paddling in one of the
World's best white water locatio ns: Chile. The students ranged from barely rolling grade 3 paddlers, up to the World's best young chargers regularly running 70ft waterfalls. I was primarily coaching skills to t he
"development" students, whilst instilling safety, leadership and group awar eness in the "chargers". It was a
demanding job with very differing student needs, but coaching on grade 4 -4+ and running waterfalls every
day for work was an amazing experience!

saw fit to improve the business. My day -to-day roles included managing a team of local staff and freelance
guides, taking all bookings and liaising with other organi sations to provide full holiday packages. As head
coach I mentored and trained local coaches and ran sessions ranging from Intro to White Water up to guided grade 4+ river trips and advanced freestyle coaching for a full range of international clients
Canoe Wales Coach Education Co -ordinator 2009-2010
This part -time role involved educating coaches on the changes to the BCU coaching scheme and ensuring
sufficient provision of coach education in Wales. The role also provided a link for coaches to th e BCU / Canoe
Wales policy makers, an often challenging position which required diplomacy.

I organised and delivered a series of Freestyle Development days, which attracted paddlers with a wide
range of ages and abi lities. I also set -up the 'North Wales Playboat Gatherings', a cooperative series of get -
togethers, created with the intention of returning the spirit of rodeo to North Wales.

I was resp onsible for planning and implementing week -long coaching courses and guided holidays for a
range of clientele while ensuring the highest quality of public relations and customer service. Other
responsibilities included providing training and mentoring for less experienced members staff.

WebSphere MQ System Tester

During my Industrial Year I was responsible for the development of automated tests for WebSphere MQ,
which is a key part of the IBM product line. I was also part of the Student Liaison Committee - giving tal ks at exhibitions, shows and Universities around the country. I was highly praised on the standard of my work and
my willingness to get involved, demonstrated by the two Thank You Awards I received.
