I have worked for the same company for the past 11 years delivering their own product nationwide but mostly on the east coast . Previous to that i worked for a courier company nationwide

Work History

Driver and customer relations

June 2003 - February 2014

I was responsibile for picking orders loading van and distribution of goods to customers meeting their
requirments regarding timed deliveries. I would also take orders for next delivery day
I would be the face to face person of the company and so it was important to be able to communicate with these customers. Reporting back to sales agents with leads or orders.
Upkeep of my van or truck with daily and weekly inspections

This company had a total of 11 employees so promotion oppertunitys were hard to come by
I did feel that i became a well respected part of this team by both customers and employers
I have always been one who would do that little bit extra if needed and I have a can do attitude which helped
me become an important part of this close knit team

Skills Used
My communcation and man managment skills were very important in this job. My can do attitude and ability to turn problems into challanges that can be solved. I have vast knowlage of irelands road network as i have
driven nationwide in this and my previous job

Assistant cargo manager

March 1997 - June 2003

I had various responsibilities in this position. I helped run the wearhouse making sure all consignments were
delivered and collections for export were collected and dispatched to the airport. There were three aspects to this job courier, groupage, and sea freight all of which came under my remit. Reporting to all departments was
key in making this job work and sometimes reporting four or five times a day was necessary. When required
i also made express deliveries. This has involved delivering over night to film sets with coustumes airports with airplane parts and hospitals with life saving transplants

This company grew in the first few years I was with them and took over another courier company Business
post and as the company expended so to did my duties. I became a shift manager and was required to have
all reports ready to hand over to the incoming manager

Skills Used
Ability to multitask and soulition finding would of been very important in this role. At times i would of been
dealing with up to 20 drivers so man managment skills were very important. Can do, will do, got done. That
would of been my motto while i worked in this very fast paced company
