Facilitation of training is my passion and has been for the last 12 years. My area of specific expertise is the development of workplace harmony and other "soft skills". Experience has irrevocably proved that sound workplace relationship and a steady morale is intrinsic to the maximization of strategic profits and organizational sustainability. Having worked in a multi-cultural and multi-tiered skills level organization for 16 years, I am blessed with the unique ability to communicate with and facilitate training to people representative of many different stations. Additional skills include me being a SETA-certified workplace skills assessor (include the designing and conducting of learning outcomes), Skills Development Facilitator & Training Manager. My experience includes the management of Senior Management traineeships and S.13 and S.28 Apprenticeships as well as Instructional Design.




Facilitating training (learning) to adults is my passion. Customizing the learning material to the client business requirements is a challenge that I accept enthusiastically. Using the tool of the learning process to align the thinking of the employee(s) with a company's business (strategic) intent IS the true measure of the ROI. I deliver quality, ON SITE training programmes and short courses so that skills and knowledge transfer is maximised. I believe that training certification can only occur once competency has been assessed and therefore strongly advocate OB (outcomes based) learning materials.

Duties: Training period as Human Resources Generalist / Human Resources Officer (Industrial Relations) & Training & Development.

I transferred from I.R. to Training in November of 1999. Duties included policy & procedure generation; management of Study Loans (±R120,000) & Employee Education Assistance Schemes; Revamp, implementation & co-ordination of Adult Literacy programme; revision & strategic re-implementation of internal Induction Programme; recruitment & selection; management & co-ordination of 6 x technical Apprentices, In-Service-Trainees & Vacation Students as required by our two factories; Formulation & control of training budget of ±R1.2m; Training programme concluded in June 2000. I was appointed as a Human Resources Officer (I.R.) W.E.F. 1 July 2000.

Duties: Full Human Resources generalist function including recruitment & selection (from advert to appointment), discipline in accordance with in-house disciplinary procedure & legislation, budgeting, performance management & assessment, career pathing / development, generation of IDP's & various welfare functions. Extensive Union interaction experience with 5 active Trade Unions in effect simultaneously. Involvement in the HR arena during 3 major strikes & have donned a set of overalls & worked in the sugar factory for 3 weeks in order to keep the mill crushing during a strike.
