Intergrating Learning Skills Framework (Curriculum)

Implementation of online modules

The project requires the design of the learning content that is intergrated within 5 faculties for students studying Extended Degree Course. This has been dont through Blackboard. A paper has been presented together with Instructional Designer at UJ. We also had to design the marking system as well as evaluation process. The project was also successful and students really gained and acquired research skills for their assignment. This project started in 2011 and changes have been taking place for improvement on yearly basis until 2013.

LibGuides Project

Training of Librarians and development of the brand for the University of Johannesburg. Worked very closely with the webmaster to make sure that 24 Librarian have access. The training was for the Librarians to develop their own LibGuides according to their respective faculties they serve. I also had to set standards and quality check including sustainability strategy. The project was successful all librarians participated and today the University has LibGuide platform to support teaching and learning programs.

Implementation of 10 tutors to support first year students at University of Johannesburg

The project: recruitment of 10 tutors, budget for the year. designing of their training programmes, designing of outcome recording including statistics, creating recording of their activities using LIBSTATS system. Creating name badges, computers to use, sitting areas, feedback on activities, submitting reports monthly and continues development of their perfomance and working closely with the Academic Learning Department. The project is intergrated with the tutors mainstream within the University and recognised.

The project has been very successful in supporting first year students as their lack knowledge and experience in an academic institution during their first year.

2. Developed libguides for the Library at Wits and at University of Johannesburg

At UJ - Trained all Librarians to develop libguides in their subject areas
- Created a platform for the library and worked with the webmaster to design a banner and access for all librarians.
- Created a generic libguide on Plagiarism and Copyright to be used by all students, all faculties available http://uj.ac.za.libguides.com/plagiarismandcopyright. Conducted a demot withi First Year Experience Committe and was approved and published.

Created a LibGuide for all First Year Students entering the University of Johannesburg as a starting point. after my Resignation in October 2013 access to the content was allocated to another librarian but I am the designer and publisher of the whole libguide.
I am the owner beside the fact that I left the institution. See the link below to view the design
