Holman Anderson - Editor, Adult & Ya Fiction, Non-Fiction, How-To's - Anderson Island, WA, USA

Leslie Holman Anderson

Anderson Island, WA, USA

Good writing makes me salivate. Helping writers get there fills me with joy. An early background in writing data entry manuals gives me an understanding of the need for clarity and organization, while my love of the English language keeps me from becoming dogmatic about it -- sometimes the beauty or humor of the words is the most important factor.

I view editing as more than just sprucing up a manuscript. It's also teaching. As your editor, I will be whole-heartedly on your side, telling you not only what needs to be changed but why -- I want your book to be as sellable as possible and your next one, because of what I teach you, to be even better. I'll also tell you when I think something is great: nobody likes to just get criticized!

Editor, Adult & Ya Fiction, Non-Fiction, How-To's

“She did a great job and she has taught me some valuable things, with a great sense of humor, about writing. I am laughing at her comments... I need her sitting with me as I write....
I am very appreciative of all the comments and directives that Leslie has taken the time to highlight, her suggestions are great.”
Ken Ramirez, Valley of the Raven

"Do thank Leslie for making my book better. She did such a lot of work that I did not know how to do. (I am on chapter 5) I am learning a lot and I do hope it sticks in my mind to be consistent in what I write.
I feel she has helped me a great deal. You will see that I did change and add to some parts to make things clearer for her and myself."
Dorothy Skarles, Learning to Write for Fun, Posterity, and Money (via the publisher)
