Stocktaking and ordering stationery: Devised and implemented a new system for distributing stationery among the staff.
Liaising with contractors: Charged with overseeing all the refurbishing work being done at the Royal Mail’s Mail Media Centre (MMC) on Stukeley St. Arranged weekly meetings with contractors to discuss all issues and deadlines. Reported directly to facilities manager regarding progress.
Health & Safety: Responsible for fire drills and making sure all safety procedures were implemented and followed.
IT Support: Dealt with all issues relating to computers, printers and photocopiers.
Organising functions: Helped organise a televised media event hosted by Dermot Murnaghan. Successfully organised for 3 yrs the Office Christmas party. Implemented office charity events for Children in Need which led to increased donations. Organised team building away days.
Problem solving: Just before a very important meeting, which was to be attended by numerous Royal Mail MD’s, we lost all electricity in the room. To solve the problem I had to go around to many of the businesses in the area and borrow extension leads which I than ran from one part of the building to the meeting room which enabled the meeting to go ahead and earned me the distinction of being named Employee of the Month because I was able to remain calm and think on my feet.
Management of confidential info: Dealt with the disposal of confidential info by ensuring it was destroyed properly.
Customer services: First point of contact for visitors to the MMC. Informed host of their client’s arrival.
Provided tea and coffee for customers using the InfoBank services. Provided information to people calling regarding the services at the MMC.
Directed incoming calls to correct personnel.
Created spreadsheets using excel regarding information on InfoBank use, meeting room usage and for aiding one of the Directors PA’s with data entry.
