Work History

Britannia Rd

From July 2012

S40 2TZ
I attended Travel Style for two weeks, for work experience which was set up at school. At Travel Style I had to input data of customers holidays booked or cancelled into different Microsoft packages such as Excel and Word, I then had to send leaflets and letters out to customers, which had to be completed by the end of the day in order for the customers to receive them the next day. I believe that I got this task done efficiently as all of the letters were ready at the end of each day. I then had to add paperwork into folders in alphabetical order, to make it easy for the other colleagues to find them easily if needed. This helped my confidence as I was put in a work place with people I didn't know, but, I befriended many of the workers there which meant that my confidence grew and i wasn't afraid to ask for things if I needed them.

Wisp Hair and Beauty

September 2012 - July 2013

S40 2ES
I worked as one of the salon staff at Wisp on the weekends due to school, however, whilst I was working their I had to handle money from paying customers, making sure that they gave the right mount, and if change was needed, I had to check that I gave the right change. I had to communicate with the customers, ensuring that they felt at ease and asking them if they had any problems. This meant I had to be confident in talking to them, as if I wasn't confident then they wouldn't feel like they could talk to me. Team work was also very vital whilst working in the salon as I had to be able to tell the stylist that their next customer had arrived, and I also had to take calls from customers cancelling their appointments, and re-arranging them, which i then had to pass the information on to the stylist. I had to keep the salon tidy and looking representable.
