Mahoney - Web Designer - Dublin, Ireland

Laura Mahoney

Dublin, Ireland

I worked as an architectural technician for seven years. I then decided it was time for a change as web design was something I was interested in. I first completed a 10 week nightcourse to see if web design was for me. I really enjoyed the course, therefore I went on to complete the Fetac Level 5 certificate full time course in web design in FAS. Since then, I have been working as a freelance web designer and have completed many websites as well as logos. You can view my own website for more details.

Work History

Web Designer

LM Design Web Design

From October 2009

LM Design Web Design can create a professional and affordable website for you or your business. As I work with Joomla CMS to create websites, it means that clients have the option to edit the website themselves. It also means that I can create responsive websites, so it would be viewable on phones and tablets as well as laptops and computers.

Dublin Disco Hire Company

A Joomla 2.5 website created for a DJ Hire company in Dublin. The website was drastically amended to suit the client using CSS and HTML as well as working with the CMS software. A Blog was also incorporated into the website as well as a Booking Form with PayPal.

Hair Salon Website

This was a website created for a hair salon in Dublin called Gorgeous Hair Salon in Artane. The site was created using a lot of photos from the clients portfolio.
I was created using HTML, CSS and CMS.

Fingal Film Festival

This is an ongoing website project which I am working on together with Fingal Film Festival. I built the website from the beginning and set up the hosting and domain for the website. This is a large and interesting project, created using Joomla 2.5 CMS.

Photographers Website

This was a website created for the photographer Brendan Gleeson. It was created using Joomla which gave my client control over the editing of the site. This was very important for him as he constantly needs to update his photo portfolio.

Vinyl Covers Band

This was a website for a covers band called Vinyl. I created this website using Dreamweaver, Photoshop, CSS, HTML and music player, flash.

The Gables Medical Centre

This was a website created for a medical centre based in Dundrum in Dublin.
I spent plenty of time with my client working on the right wording and choosing the right images to suit the businesses website. The website criteria was for it to be clean, simple, basic and easy to use.

James Mitchell Architect

I created this website for an architect based in Dublin. My client wanted a clean, modern website which was easy to navigate and to use. I worked closely with this client in order to achieve the desired outcome.
For this project I used Photoshop, Word and Joomla CMS.

Daniel Jones Logo

This project involved creating a brand new logo for an upcoming Irish band. The client had strict guidelines and a deadline for this project as the logo would be used for promotional work. I used a combination of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to complete this work.

Morgan Sports Solutions Logo

For this project, the client was looking to re-vamp his business and design of its logo.
I worked closely with the client to ensure a clean simple design for the business logo to be used for web and print. Adobe Photoshop was used to create this logo.
