Madison Bridge Associates
From July 2013
65 Church Street, Birmingham, B3 2DP. July 2013-Present.
Currently I am undertaking work experience at a recruitment firm. After leaving university I felt It was necessary to familiarize myself with the working environment once again and gain some new experience. During my time at Madison Bridge Associates I have had the opportunity to acquire many new skills. My duties have included, making phone calls to candidates and discussing their needs and preferences, matching candidates to job roles, acquiring leads, and advertising vacancies on various job databases and the company website via Wordpress. Also I was given the task of finding suitable candidates to work for the company, contacting them and then booking them in for interviews. Working as a recruiter at Madison Bridge is a great challenge and has kept me determined to succeed.
I believe I am a very approachable and friendly individual who enjoys meeting and socialising with new people. I understand it is important to be able to work as an individual; however I am not hesitant to work in a team and I am fully able to co-operate with other people. When faced with a new environment I approach tasks with great initiative and enthusiasm and I'm always keen to learn new ideas and gain new skills. My previous work experience has helped me to become punctual and manage my time very well and I will complete any challenges I am set with eagerness and to the best of my ability.
My time at University helped me to grow and develop my skills. As well as adjusting to a new environment and having to interact with a variety of people I was required to undertake a lot of independent work which assisted me in becoming versatile and able to adapt effectively within a new environment. The busy and faced paced nature of University life meant I had to become familiar with working under pressure and meeting deadlines within a certain time period, this compelled me to stay calm and collected to ensure a task is...
Small World Day Nursery
I carried out a two week work experience placement at Small World Day Nursery in Hall Green. At this placement I took on the role of interacting with different age groups and carrying out various jobs, which included planning activities for and supervising the children. I worked a set time shift from 9.00 am -5.00 pm. As this was my first job, I was able to familiarize myself with a work environment and understand as well as learn more about the different skills required.
Royal Bank of Scotland
Birmingham, B1 2TZ. June-September 2007.
In 2007 I worked full time at The Royal Bank of Scotland in Birmingham. The working hours included 9.00 am-5.00 pm everyday and overtime when necessary. During my time at RBS I developed communication and social skills. I was able to learn more about the range of different personalities apparent in a working environment and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people as this gave me a confidence boost and allowed me to approach individuals more positively.
While at RBS I was required to complete jobs such as; downloading online mortgage applications submitted by brokers, carrying out online valuations and scanning various documents to different departments of the bank. Learning about time keeping and being punctual meant I benefited from time restrictions and enjoyed the challenge of being set a target and having to meet that target within a certain amount of time.
I was given a great opportunity to analyze people and find out more about the different job roles. I was able to observe the roles of various employees, for instance by watching all the jobs they have to carry out and recognizing their duties; this allowed my initiative to grow and assisted me in making decisions for certain tasks.
