Customer Services Officer
Department of Housing
September 2012 - January 2013
It was necessary to provide ongoing service to customers. Direct contact with customers was necessary when they were enquiring about possible financial problems, housing issues and sometimes complaints regarding neighbours, domestic violence, disruptive behaviour etc. Working as part of a team, sometimes work could become quite challenging, especially when customers became some-what aggressive and threatening. I was able to deal with this effectively due to my previous experience. Overall, I dealt with a variety of people, of all different age groups and cultures, in particular, indigenous people.

I personally expanded the National Diploma Art and Design course in the centre of Manchester. I taught students from approximately 16 to 25 years old. I have 100% success pass/grades for all of my students, whereby they attained not only top grades/results, but all students gained places to the University of their choice. Having expanded the course it became necessary for me to employ and manage ten other members of staff to teach specialist areas of art and design. Teaching included, fine art, life drawing, ceramics, sculpture, 3 dimensional design, fashion, textiles, graphic design, History of Art and two formal exhibitions of students work each year. Interview techniques, answering the phone etc. were also a vital part of my teaching, to enhance students awareness of good business practice.
