Architectural model making

We had three projects within the architectural aspect of model making. One was a model for CRAB, another one was a model for an architectural student and another for Stratford Regional Station Railway. We worked in varied groups to learn about alternative models within architecture and clean, crisp, finished models.

Commercial Exploration was a great project to learn about the commercial aspect of model making. We were allowed to create almost anything and research into the industry that would make it. I did not get work experience where I would have liked to because I found that the industry at that time was having a hard time. I did do a lot of other research into the industry though. I really enjoyed using materials I hadn't used before and doing tests and samples. I learnt a lot from this project and still I feel I need to improve on my sewing skills.

Project was called Communication and Interaction, where we were to chose a topic from a list and base our project around it. I chose to do a project based around natural selection and Darwins theory. First I made a maze type design and it didn't quite pass the grade as apparently didn't quite fit the criteria. I then created a bagatelle in miniature taking into consideration the space into which it might go if placed in a museum but this also didn't pass the criteria, so I made a big bagatelle with the natural selection of beetles and had a simple way of showing natural selection through the ball going randomly around the board and landing into a pinned off section where you would ave a certain colour beetle.
