Electrician but electro_mechanician by trade
transnet port terminals
From February 2009
I have started as an apprentice millwright (electro-mechanic) in 2006,qualified in 2009 february.through my apprentice I was expose to both mechanical work and electrical work, but due to the company i work for not having work that requires an eletro mechanic and only the electrical department was available then I became an electrician by post....as an electrician my duties are to maintain machinery i.e cranes, loaders, conveyors etc as well as be on standby, shifts and even act as a supervisor when required. In these machine we deal with plc's, variable speed drives, trouble shooting and ofcourse fault finding because you are no electrician if you cant fault find... education wise I have managed to have NTC5 plus 3 subject on NTC6 waiting for results then I can apply for a diploma.
