Johnson - Writer - Edinburgh, Edinburgh, City of, UK

Ken Johnson

Edinburgh, Edinburgh, City of, UK

I am a Senior Education Consultant giving training and developing specialised syllabuses and training materials for Tibco Software.

Tibco Software is a systems integration company specialising in web service applications, secure integration architecture and message oriented data transfer. These courses interest software developers and administrators in a number of commercial sectors, banking, insurance and finance being the largest. I have worked with numerous companies in finance and banking, mobile communications and other sectors. These companies include Rand and RMB in South Africa, The Royal Bank of Scotland, AIG, Lehmann and The Bradford and Bingley.

In these classes I used standard training material and customised it ad hoc to suit the particular customers’ projects and training requirement.

My responsibilities have spanned advising senior staff of customer companies on training paths, undertaking lecturing and instruction, carrying out demonstrations and practical projects, drafting curricula and implementing them in collaboration with client companies, writing instruction manuals and making instructional video.

I have worked on site in Kenya, India, South Africa, the UAE, Bangladesh and throughout the UK and Europe, including Poland, Russia and Ukraine. I have also given training using “virtual classrooms” and “virtual desktops” across the Internet to remote clients. Although I don’t especially like using virtual classroom technology it does make training in remote areas readily available and economic.

I am a competent writer of reports and technical manuals. I worked as a technical author for the former QDS in Stirling.
