Restoration and Alteration Of Existing 3 Storey Penang Chinese Chamber Of Commerce Building
The Penang Chinese Chamber Of Commerce Building is a Category 2 heritage building situated at Light Street, Penang. Many changes and additions were done to the building over the years which changed the aesthetic of the original building.
By this restoration process, all features, motif stucco, and facade were repaired, made good and restored to what it were originally. The asbestos corrugated roof was removed and replaced with V-tile as what was originally.
The elements which were of heritage value were maintained and made good. All new elements used, such as floor tiles and wall tiles were to match the original as much as possible.
The walls were plastered with lime plaster and followed the heritage method of applying.
Breathable paint was used for coating the building.
In conclusion, the building was restored to what it was originally.
