Tool Hire Manager
My roles include the day to day running of an in branch
tool hire. This includes dealing with customers face to face or on the phone, interacting with branch staff, all health and safety duties as well as the servicing and repair of tools and machines.
I started my career at Hewden as a fitter but was put forward for a position as an instructor. After a successful interview I went away for training. I was then based in Warrington and travelled around the country training customers in the use of access platforms.
My duties were collecting and emptying wheelie bins on a rural route. Very early starts and unsociable hours but i was between jobs and i stuck with it until another job came along.
Truck care Vehicle Body builder 2001 - 2003
Duties included the entire process of commercial vehicle body building and repairs, from the first contact with customers to ordering materials and the manufacture of bespoke bodies.
From working drawings, the complete manufacture of dock levelling bays (loading bays for articulated lorries), and their installation on site.

I completed my apprenticeship as a modern day blacksmith here. A job I enjoyed very much. Duties included the building of tipper bodies, flat bed trailers for lorries, car trailers and horse boxes.
