Luccombe Ward

I worked in the NHS as an auxiliary nurse on Luccombe ward.
Luccombe ward is a 25 bedded orthopedic, trauma ward.
It also provides care for emergency, surgical and medical patients required
On Luccombe Ward my duties are to look after patients including assisting with washing, food and fluid intake, monitoring blood pressure, taking blood, maintaining patient comfort, dignity and confidentiality at all times also documentation. My job role also included ward clerking duties such as answering the phone, filing and dealing with patient's notes.
I have basic IT skills in using the hospitals patient database.

Bank Auxiliary Nurse St Mary's


November 2010 - March 2011

During my time as a Bank Auxiliary Nurse I have assisted on various departments around the hospital which have included pre-operation and post operational patients. My duties were to care for patients with various medical conditions. As part of my caring duties I would have to asses patients personal hygiene, to ensure that they are taking appropriate solids and liquids as per there medical condition and intake restrictions and to monitor blood levels and patients general conditions. I spent the majority of my Bank role on Luccombe Ward.

Is an acute medical ward which is a short-term, it also has an Conary Care Unit, which contains 6 beds and a medical assessment ward, also known as MAU which contains 5 beds.

My duties at Barcena café bar involved working with the general public. As part of my role I assisted with ordering basic bar supplies, liaising with suppliers and managing deliveries.
