Job Role: To provide an excellent customer service for the local community, serve customers, use the tills, deal with payments, use paypoint and payzone machines to pay bills, have good product knowledge about the stock and what The Co-operative has to offer, to be approachable and well presented, to stock shelves, deal with complaints, ID customers who look 25 or under, make sure all stock is rotated, stock is faced forwards and in date, sort out cages and deliveries, getting rid of waste stock, updating offers and displays, rearranging the store, clean the store, take of the machines and tills, Pod tills, refunds, price enquires and helping to close the shop at night. To reduce stock, do CDF and further reductions. To put through waste stock on the system, then bag, sticker and waste it. To recycle the card board, plastic, paper and food waste efficiently to be more eco friendly. To do gap checks. Deal with deliveries. Count and send off papers including filling in the correct paperwork. Use the lottery machines. Be efficient and provide a friendly speedy service on the tills with excellent customers, providing for customers needs and expectations and exceeding them.

Open/Close the Foreign Exchange, Banking, know and follow Anti Money Laundering procedures, hold keys, Ask for appropriate ID and do sanction checks when dealing with foreign exchange payments and western union. I was responsible for mine and my colleague's health and safety. I had to know how to buy and sell cash passports, traveller's checks and worldwide currencies by using Felix/Ultropos Systems. I had to provide the best currency exchange rate and know the different rates for my customer. I had to get customers to fill in FE compliance forms for transactions over £4999+. I had to open up the shop, switch on phones, computers, card machines and do a security camera checks. Follow Thomas Cook PROUD values. Build rapport with customers. Provide excellent customer service. Deal with phone calls using the correct Co-operative Travel business speech. I used Web Rio to load customer's details, to then search for their perfect holiday on Viewdater. On Viewdater I had to know airport codes, the dates, and destinations the customers wanted to go. I had to print off any errata, holiday details, summaries and quick costing off Viewdater for customers. Then load the information on to WebRio to carry out the enquiry or/and booking form. I used WebRio to make enquiries, to download from Magic Desktop, load bookings, take cash and card payments, to do invoices, conformation forms, check for tickets, load/read notes/memos. Set up membership cards for customers so they can get points form their transaction. I also used systems such as Lime to access cruise booking systems, the Gazetteer, flexitrips and other useful booking resources/informative website. I used TOM TOM for training on academy to gain product knowledge so I was always up-to-date with the latest brochures, deals and holidays available to customers.
