• Work with statutory homeless, single men residing in one of the biggest hostels in the UK, taking responsibility for a case load of 15-21 at any one time
• Utilising a person-centred approach to identify and address the needs of each individual
• Assist individuals with claiming the benefits to ensure the correct ones are being accessed, and it's completed in a timely fashion in order to sustain their temporary accommodation
• Assist individuals through the provision of information, advice, guidance and signposting in a variety of other aspects of their lives, such as training and employment, to promote and support move-on
• Maximise the opportunities available to residents to help them obtain accommodation and sustain their independence
• Excellent knowledge of homelessness and the issues that might be the cause or effect of individuals finding themselves homeless. This includes but isn't exclusive to alcohol and substance misuse, mental health and offending
• Working in partnership with agencies throughout the city who can offer a variety of support to individuals
• To be responsible and accountable for carrying out duties with regard to Health & Safety/ Equality & Diversity
• Collate and record information on spreadsheets, and record and keep updated case information
• To work in line with funding/budget requirements, and to the values and objectives of the company
• Working in a office environment and therefore completing all administration and computer work to include word-processing, using email and the internet, letter writing and filling in forms
