Jeffers - Textiles - Saint Helens, UK

Katie Jeffers

Saint Helens, UK

I have a lot of interests. At the end of the day I'm only 17 and I've still yet to discover what I really want to do as a career in the future. I have a lot of interests and hobbies right now which I'm sure would be relevant into what you're looking for (I hope, that's if you're interested in giving me a shot).
-Textiles (Fashion Design)
-Nail Art
-Art (fine art)

I also wish to try out new things such as learning how to tattoo, as this has appealed to me recently, if anybody has any opportunities that they could give me I'd be grateful. I'll do any work for free, unless you think I'm good enough for paid work in which case I wouldn't mind earning some money.

I have studied this at GCSE and I am currently carrying on this study at A Level.
I have a keen interest in this subject and would hopefully be able to pursue this as a career one day.

I am willing to do unpaid jobs as well as paid.

A Level Textiles

My second half of my textiles A Level. The project I am doing this year is an Upcycling project, and I am already a couple weeks in. The project is basically having a sole client and taking some of their existing clothes (whether my client just be a normal person or a client who owns a store) and upcycling them so that they have a longer life and to also promote upcycling and reduce textile waste and landfill.

AS Exam - Video Game

For my AS Exam in graphics, I have chosen to do a design concept for an upcoming game called 'Hyrule Warriors' which is said to be released at some point this year. The title and game concept itself is not final, which is why I have chosen it as it will give me a wide range of freedom to do design ideas and things such as a new re-designed logo, game characters, packaging, the gameplay itself and even promotional products such as flyers etc.

'Hyrule Warriors' is a spin-off game from 'The Legend of Zelda' series, and is a collaboration between Tecmo Koei's 'Dynasty Warriors' series and Nintendo's 'The Legend of Zelda' series. The only information given about the game thus far is a trailer that is also not final, showing what could be featured in the game. I will be looking forward to doing this in my exam in the upcoming weeks and hope to post everything soon.

*UPDATE* 30th April 2014
Finally had my exam, but have not yet recieved a grade as my whole years work of Graphics is going to be sent off in three weeks. But I have some of my work to post finally! The picture I have added are design and colour variations of the characters in "The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker" game that I wanted to re-design for my game idea for "Hyrule Warriors". Although these aren't the final toned versions these are a general over view of the type of work I did in my exam!

In my AS Level Graphics Exam, I earned a C Grade.

The Art of Album Covers

I am currently doing this project in my BTEC Photography class in Sixth Form. The project involves me re-creating an album of my choice in my own image, and what I think it would look like. I have chosen Lady Gaga's album 'ARTPOP'.

I have chosen six songs from the album, and I will be creating EP covers representing each individual one. I will also be creating a front and back cover as well. So far, I have started taking pictures for my front cover, using my friend as a model and editing the photos I use on adobe photoshop.

*UPDATE* 30th April 2014
I have nearly finished my full presentation of my project so I will hopegfully be able to post it soon! Also have two photo shoots finished with a few edits, which I have posted. I have posted a couple edits (one from each shoot) that I have been developing during my photography lessons, although these edits are not final.

AS Textiles

My first half of my textiles A Level, I am doing a project of my own choice, called LBD switch up (Little Black Dress switch up). Basically instead of just making plain old LBD's, I'm making them so that they have multi-functional features and can change into different shapes and designs so that if a woman was to buy it, they could have multiple dresses in one, rather than just the same plain dress they'd wear time and time again -they can switch it up.

I have nearly finished my project and will have pictures to post soon.

*Update 13th May 2014*
Finally have my dresses made and have put them into a Fashion Show that took place in The Bluecoat, Liverpool. I have attached photographs taken of my products at the show.

Update *12th August 2014*
I have finished this half of my A Level, and I will be starting my other half of my A Level in September. I've yet to know what the project is.
