• To support the Deputy Director, Region DC18 in the achievement of the Departmental goals and objectives by ensuring a safe and healthy environment for the community to live, work and recreate in Region DC 18.
• To ensure that local authorities without full-time EHO's take measures where environmental health conditions/services are unsatisfactory.
• To ensure that dairy farms are visited/evaluated to establish whether the premises including products are acceptable/on records.
• To ensure that milk from producers/suppliers supplying milk direct to the public complies with standards.
• To ensure that food manufacturing, food preparation and food transportation facilities are investigated to establish whether premises including products are acceptable.
• To ensure that all consignments of imported foodstuffs are examined for release/disposal.
• To ensure that safe supply/storage handling and application of group 1 hazardous substance at suppliers/aerial application firms.
• To ensure that Environmental Health conditions at high-density institutions are satisfactory.
