Research Engineer, 2001-2002

Researched & designed a prototype of complex portable medical device called Biothesiometer intended by doctors to measure the sensation loss due to neuropathy Ulcer in the foot. The design has since been patented and has helped in advancement of similar biomedical devices.

Proposal & Estimate Engineer, 2004

Retained to expedite the turnkey power plant proposals & estimates. Participated in the infamous China Bundle Buy multibillion dollar project. Managed proposal bid packages and estimates. Contributed to the corporate lessons learned program as a six-sigma certified engineer.

Water Distribution Engineer, 2004 - 2008

Bureau of Water & Sewer Operation (BWSO)
Retained to manage the citywide hydraulic testing and permitting unit responsible for reviewing & approving consultants, NYCDOB and FDNY applications for fire sprinklers design, backflow preventer (RPZ), city potable water services and firefighting pressure maintenance. Directed field operations’ personnel to scheduled maintenance of city's water distribution system (water/trunk mains, riser shafts, regulators, valves, storm water catch basins, etc.). Engaged with Bureau's personnel with engineering, research, investigations and studies on improvement projects to the aging infrastructure of city's water distribution system. Supported bureau's activities with cost estimating, materials and labor requirements for current and future projects. On bureau's deputy commissioners direct orders, coordinated in 2007 investigation and mobilization to remove PERC (perchloroethylene) from drinking water supply in the borough of Queens (St. Albans, Queens Village, Cambria Heights, Hollis, and Jamaica).

Project: NYCDEP - Pine Hill Sewer Extension, Township of Shandaken, Ulster County, NY
Retained for sizing and laying out over 4000 ft of sanitary sewer main, man-holes, pumping and station pumps to the NYCDEP wastewater treatment plant. Compiled detailed specifications for the client.

Project: NYCDEP - Showers Road, Tannersville, Town of Hunter, Green County, NY, Budget: $918,137
Designed, sized and laid out over 4000 ft of sanitary sewer main replacing existing septic tanks. Directed CAD group to produce plans, drawings and details. Complied detailed specifications for the client.

Project: NYCDEP - East River CSO Retention Facilities Alley Creek Drainage Area Improvements Phase 1, Stage 1 & 2, Budget: $93M
Developed final project report including all design deliverables as per clients final record documents specifications requirements. QA/QC CAD design group in regards to development of as-built plans. Shop witnessed 2 separate tests: 12" shut-off gate valves for IPS valve chamber and 12" cone valve with scuba actuators and control panels.

NYCDEP - English Kills 1 Newtown Creek Phase 2, English Kills 2 Newtown Creek Phase 1
Designed and budgeted mechanical blowers, variable frequency drives, control panels, pipes, diffusers, as well as developing bathometric plans for Dutch Kills and East Branch of the Newtown Creek. Presented client with detailed analysis of various latest aeration technologies with regards to operability and maintainability.

Project Engineer, 2008 - 2010

NYCDEP - Flushing Bay Retention Facility, Budget: $160M
Redesigned and implemented an alternate flow reading/recording technology to correct the flow of the sewage/sludge into the facility. Managed project’s change orders and cost estimates. Designed the containment wall structure employing fiberglass reinforced polymer panel, concrete footing and installation process & application. Reviewed and approved all contractual submittals, RFI, RFC from contractors to ensure high standard of quality.

Project Engineer, 2010 – Present

NYCDEP - Brookfield Avenue Landfill Remediation, Budget: $275M
Executed all construction project management and QA/QC functions on superfund hazardous waste landfill remediation project. Responsible for maintaining all aspects of the site quality management. Supervised all city, state, federal regulatory compliance activities and helping to enforce quality assurance policies and best practice principals covering the safety, design, production and inspection.
