Synthesis of double network hydrogels for artificial muscles
The objective of the research work was to synthesise double network hydrogels by crossinking poly (2-acrylamido, 2-methyl, 1-propane sulfonic acid) (PAMPS) network with acrylic acid (AAc) to obtain the double network. Various tests like tensile test,
compression test, swelling test and actuation test were done to test the mechanical
properties of the DN gel. Actuation test was conducted to observe the response of the gel to the chance in pH.
Synthesis and characterization of carbon nanostructures using natural source.
The objective of the research work was to synthesise carbon nanostructures (graphene and CNTs) using agricultural waste at minimum temperature conditions. The work was also aimed at reducing the time spend on and cost for preparing the carbon nanostructures.
Characterization techniques like XRD, FT-IR, Raman Spectroscopy, SEM and TEM
analysis were done to characterise the prepared material.
