I am a certified teacher and mother in Manitoba, Canada. I teacher English Language Arts at high school level and am dedicated to developing strong reading and writing skills in students. I use modern media to present Shakespeare and have a great love for Edgar Allan Poe's work. I use my passion for dark literature to introduce students to a world of writing that reaches beyond the expected.
In my classes students will use their personal experience and creativity to develop reading, writing, listening, speaking, viewing, and representing skills which will help them share their interests with the world. My students will be given a voice and freedom to speak, while developing their leadership and tolerance.
I am a writer, artist, photographer, and poet. My works have not yet been shared, though my first novella will be released in a few years once I am satisfied with the result.
I have previously been employed as the high school English Language Arts teacher at Frontier Mosakahiken School in Moose Lake, Manitoba, where I was the primary English Language Arts teacher for the First Nations community. I taught grade 9 through 12 English Language Arts, a school-initiated Strategic Reading and Writing course for struggling grade 9 students, while also having administered and marked the Senior 4 Provincial English Standard Examinations. I am dedicated to literacy and instilling a love of literature in students at the senior level.
