Karen Verburgh (1969) is an expert in the field of Human Development (HD): how and what makes people grow and develop into the best they can be; to live their full potential. She knows about conducive circumstances for growth and development and how one can create those, which she uses in her work as a coach, trainer, learning facilitator and HD consultant. Her clients are individuals, teams and organisations, both profit and not-for-profit throughout all sectors.
Karen has 14 years experience as a HD practitioner, 9 in the Netherlands and 5 in South Africa. She has designed and conducted many human learning experiences over the years, like training courses, workshops, and other learning programmes. The focus in all of these is experiential: participants getting a thorough experience of whatever the topic is at the moment.
Topics cover almost all the “soft” areas when it comes to Human Development. Like leadership, diversity, emotional intelligence, communication and influence, negotiation, train the trainer, self-mastery, actioning resolutions, career alignment, etc.
Karen is known for her skills in working with “difficult” groups and individuals. Because she works with whatever presents itself, no matter how challenging or controversial something might seem. Taking people and perspectives seriously in that sense brings things to a deep level on which transformation takes place.
Facilitation of Learning
Facilitation and training has been the bulk of my work since 2001. I love helping groups make the best of why they are together in the first place. This has varied from self-development reasons, to team building or resolving conflict within groups.
