June 2012 - July 2013
I started working at the Fiddlers Arms pub in the spring of 2012, during six months I gained enough knowledge and experience to get me a position as supervisor. I was responsibility for opening and closing the pub, and more than often I had to take stock deliveries. I was also handling money and had to cash up at the end of the night. Sometimes I had the responsibility to book musicians. Serving food and working behind the bar taught me how to be organized as well as improving my people skills. The very busy environment of the Grassmarket meant that I had to work quickly and not get stressed under pressure. During my time at the Fiddlers Arms I Had both whisky training, as well as general bar training, which was organized by the Tennent's Brewing Company.
