Community based Impact Assessment Network for Eastern Africa(CIANEA)

Kabatabazi Patricia is an environmentalist, is a trained gender practitioner with a certificate in Gender Mainstreaming Training of trainers in projects by Gender and Water Alliance , She has held the position as working with Community based Impact Assessment Network for Eastern Africa(CIANEA) as Gender mainstreaming Trainer of trainers in Projects and Environment Impact Assessments in small community activities.
Patricia has done research, documented, published and presented in forums like world water week in Sweden for 3 years, World Water Forums and Common Wealth Of Government Meeting – 2007 Uganda, and First Global Forum on Human Resources for Health - 2008.
CIANEA Is network focusing on water resource management and comprised of seven countries including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda,Ethiopia,Rwanda and Burundi with the purpose of training of trainers in community based impact assessment in small activities and raising awareness towards environmental problems which can cause flood resulting into diseases break out if not attended to, in order of solving them by mitigating the impacts initially.
As a regional network CIANEA has developed training materials and trained national environment authorities and civil society organizations in the above countries on environment impact assessment- sound designs, zeroing down to small-scale community activities within the region.
From March to July 2005, I personally participated in researching on behalf of UN-Habitat and Gender and Water Alliance, conducting a rapid gender assessment on the water and sanitation situation in Kampala city- Uganda. The report was approved by UN-Habitant.
In 2002, I spearheaded a research entitled: The role of Gender in natural resource management in four districts around L.Victoria basin, Uganda Chapter and presented the findings on behalf of Relma/SIDA Nairobi and the report was approved, being used by East Africa community
